Ben Hecht on Germanic Peoples&Arnold

Ben Hecht, who wrote so many wonderful things, alot of them from my home town Chicago, said of Germans (and presumably Austrians) after WWII that they were not "sorry" or "reformed", they were "just resting".
This comes to my mind when I hear that the Green Party in Austria wants to strip Arnold of his Austrian citizenship because of his denial of clemency to Stanley Williams.
Hecht wrote the best book ever written about the founding of the state of Israel called "Perfidy". Out of print so may take some digging to find it, but he was there and said some intersesting, mostly whitewashed (later) things about Golda Meir and Ben Gurion.
Of course Blanche Bebb has it and graced me with it.
