Remember Rachel Corrie

Rachel stood in front of an Israeli Bulldozer as a "human shield" in Palestine, with a bullhorn, fluorescent orange vest and prenotification to the Israeli Military that she and others would be at this particular spot. These folks were trying to prevent the bulldozing of homes, commonly done by the IDF in their efforst to destroy Palestinians ability to live in what they errroneously believe is their biblical lands.
At her memorial, a bulldozer with the exact same number on it as the one who mowed down this 23 year old beauty was seen driving around the service in a menacing way.

A play about Rachel Corrie, which has been running in London, was also set to be produced in NYC at the New York Theatre Workshop, one of the most ballsy and innovative theater companies in New York -- but even THEY canceled it for fear the story would be too controversial. This from a company that's shown gay men fucking on stage. Their move has drawn condemnation from Vanessa Redgrave and Harold Pinter, among others, and when things like this happen in New York, of all places, and the NYTW, of all theaters, you know we're living in dark times.
