This here July 4th and our Constitution

http://www.truthout.org/docs_2006/070206A.shtml

Today is July 4th, a day most know nothing about, nor much care. It's a day to get drunk and "blow shit up" as I once heard a neanderthal college student say when asked what Independence Day meant to him. It's worth reading what William Rivers Pitt had to say about this day in history, as he is someone whose writing I can't get enough of. The rest of the article is linked above, to Truthout.org, the only news source one needs.
Excerpts from WRP:

"George Washington and Thomas Jefferson and the rest of the great thinkers put all the good ideas to paper, but they also made sure the thing was hard-wired to favor anyone with a lot of money."
WRPitt

"Two Supreme Court cases tell the story of where we're at: Santa Clara v. Southern Pacific Railroad in 1886, and Buckley v. Valeo in 1976. The first, a relatively straightforward eminent domain case, granted 14th Amendment rights to corporations. The second declared that money spent to influence elections is a form of Constitutionally-protected free speech. "

And of course, corporations are people, with as many rights and sometimes more, than flesh and blood entities.

God Fuggin' Bless America.
