Navajo "Scouts" who speak Navajo to each other but English to us. Mostly do firefighting for the Navajo (Dineh) Nation. Weren't allowed to use the thousands of phones set up by the RC for the evacuees, though at 2 am they were mostly unused. We let one of them use ours and one 18 year old Scout spent hours on ours talking lovingly to his girlfriend and his baby son. He was proud to show me their website and teach me a little Navajo.

Cop (above) in downtown San Antonio. Don't mess with Texas!

Above left: Me, Eileen, Krista and to the far right a senile elderly woman who was dumped off at our section, though probably didn't belong there. She was from Beaumont TX and was convinced that's where she was now. Couldn't understand why she couldn't go home.
