Freewayblogging "Party" in South San Francisco
Had a painting party at the home of PT Cruiser (which, as it turns out stands for Public Transporation Cruiser, NOT the SUV!).
Made about 30 signs with Scarlet and PT, had a lot of fun drinking beer, talking politics and having a few belly laughs. My kind of summer afternoon!
These are a few of the signs made. I made one freehand that said "Israel OUT of Lebanon" and posted it on the Lucky Drive overpass in Larkspur.
I also hung one up that said "Got bin Laden?" and hung it up at 22nd Street and Kansas by the hospital, facing the freeway.
PT and Scarlet used a projector to beam the lettering up on the painted cardboard, hung on the wall. We traced the letters with a sharpie and then filled them in with black paint.
I'm getting more nervy about hanging these since Scarlet has hung thousands and has never been caught.
Oh and PT gave us orange vests to wear while hanging them so people think we have a legitimate reason for hanging signs on the freeway (until they see the content!), like we work for CalTrans or something! Great idea! "Adopt a Highway" indeed!
